★ McFly New Album - Rumors and Gossips ★
Tuesday, 20 May 2008 @ 10:36
McFly leaving Island Records has been the buzz all over England. I've gather some news regarding their new album and all the buzz about them leaving the label.

The band has confirmed(I wouldn't say its official, yet) the name of the new album which is Radioactive (which reminds me of the local band Radioactive Sago Project. LOL.) One of their singles is said to be named "One For the Radio"

McFly Confirm New Album Details
Tom, Harry, Dougie and Danny have revealed details of their next studio album.

'Radioactive' will be their first independently released album, following their recent split with Island Records. It will hit the shops on July 21st and will be preceded by the single, 'One For The Radio' a week earlier.

It's rumoured that the band wanted to go it alone in order to ditch their boyband image and to have a greater control over their sound. They were also allegedly unhappy about releasing a Greatest Hits album so early on in their career.

The band have already enjoyed huge chart success to date, with thirteen consecutive Top 10 singles and four Top 10 albums. As well as releasing their new album, the band are also set to hit the road later this year.

The Sun has published an article regarding this matter.

POUR yourself a coffee, put your clothes back on and tell me your name.”

Not the kind of lyrics you’d normally associate with McFLY.

But the chart-topping quartet have undergone a radical image overhaul after sinking millions of pounds of their own money into their new record label.

The lads have turned their back on their squeaky-clean pop past and have reinvented themselves as full-blooded, ballsy rockers.

They’ve ditched label Island after becoming frustrated with how they were presented and set up independent label Super Records.

The boys – TOM FLETCHER, DANNY JONES, DOUGIE POYNTER and HARRY JUDD – invited me to their North London HQ to give me the exclusive on their future.

Tom told me: “When we recorded our albums before they’d always come back sounding miles different from what we wanted. We’d write lyrics and be told to change them.”

Drummer Harry reckons McFly Mk II could find a whole new audience. He said: “We’ve got closet fans and I think now they won’t be so ashamed to admit they like us.”

The lads recorded their new album earlier this year in Australia. And, as much as it pains me to admit it, I’ve got to say the five songs I heard are impressive.

A Music site called Contact Music also reported McFly's new owned label.

MCFLY - MCFLY LEAVE RECORD LABEL

British pop band MCFLY have parted ways with their record label.
The band has reportedly turned down a lucrative new deal with Island Records after a row over their image.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "MCFly are a huge money spinner for Island Records, so they were desperate for them to stay.
"They offered them better contracts with a bit more money, but the lads have grown up and realise the label don't want to take them in the same direction they do."
The band will release its new album on 24 July (08) through their new, own record label, Super Records.
A spokesman for Island Record was unavailable for comment

This Youtube video was taken by a fan in the streets of United Kingdom. The rumors have indeed widely spread.

Lastly, A Star Doll was created for Dougie Poynter. Have fun dressing Dougie up with different selection of clothes.
